Frankenstein by Mary Shelley

5.0

A fantastic, haunting tale of caution, morality and morbid fascination clashing to create one of the most compelling literary pairs ever. The monster is obviously the character who inspires the most compassion (the soliloquy that encompasses the middle third or so is terrific), but there's something to be said for Frankenstein himself as a tragic figure - someone so enthused with science and what he "could" do that he never stopped to think...well, you know the rest.

Oh yeah, and this was written by a teenager?
