Finally read the whole thing, and I laughed out loud a lot, but...

Uncomfortable at her applying the diagnosis of mental retardation to her dog; not as bad as someone using the "r-word" in a purely insulting way, but not...really...okay? Was also uncomfortable with the use of "Eskimo" and "quadriplegic" in other places in the book. 

The parts where she related bits of her childhood and talked about her dogs (except the above) were very, very funny. And the story of the goose. This is where I laughed. Out loud. A lot. 

The parts where she dissected herself to show us understand how horrible a person she is were not as funny. Sometimes sloggy. I could relate to the concept of what she was saying, but somehow could not connect to the way she was doing it. I felt left out of a conversation that seemed like I should be able to participate in, somehow.  One exception was the part about her depression--this section was good.

If you are reading this book, you can easily find the parts that I liked--just avoid the white sections. (Except, if you'd like to read the part that is her depression story, it's a white section--it starts on page 99.)
