Well I picked this book because it was annotated by Jenn and it was on my tbr since last year and with this Readathon it was the perfect change to finally read it.
In the first Chapter I realized this wasn't book 1 but I was invested already in the story so I read it basically in one sitting.

I loved the story that was being told for various reasons. It was interesting to me reading a story that started as insta-love (we don't see it happen on page), to marriage to then being separated from each other. Never read one quite like this but maybe I live under a rock. 😅
I like seeing that Isabella was doing her best to love Mac from afar but she wouldn't take him because he hurt her when she needed him the most plus he was an alcoholic.
Tbh I liked that the author doesn't tell on page how it was for Mac to detox however he does tell Isabella how it was on the hard days.
I liked that they both still loved each other but they never communicated their hurts and so it lead to some painful times however when this begins, Mac is willing and ready to get his wife back no matter what and so that's what he starts to do.

I loved that they adopted even when their relationship wasn't a sure thing yet. I loved that after their loss, they were willing to do that.

I loved the story. I felt for these two and I totally understood Isabella but I also wish she was on board a bit earlier on because it came across almost as if she wanted the spicy and good times but not to be married again.
Besides that I loved Mac. His charm was charming 😉.
Isabella was also the type that didn't keep quiet and I loved that about her.
I loved them together. I also loved that in the end Mac got rid of his "friends" and chose life and love.

Last but not least I loved reading what Jenn had to say about the story and it made me more excited to read about Ian next.

CW: miscarriage (not on page), alcoholism (mentioned).
