How to Train Your Dragon by Cressida Cowell
4.0
I don't review many books. Mostly because if I reviewed and rated all the books I have read, well, there wouldn't be any time for reading!
But in this case I will make an exception.
To start with, this is not How to Train Your Dragon the movie. I really, really hate when books become movies simply because it is rare that a film actually follows the plot line of the book. Whether better or worse, the movie always ends up being something entirely different except on those extremely rare occasions it sticks to the book.
I say all this to say if you are interested in reading this book because you've seen the movie, please, spare yourself the trouble. This book has almost nothing to do with the movie. The plot and even the characters are entirely different.
Is that a bad thing? In my opinion, no. The book is a bit hard to get into at first, but once it takes off it is an entertaining read. The characters are not quite memorable, but there is the action, adventure, and humor I do so love in a novel.
