Seven Blades in Black by Sam Sykes
2.0
Book is kind of shit tbh.
There is some cool world building-- I did like that part-- but it reads like someone trying to prove that their badass OC is actually really cool and badass, you can tell by all the badass lines he wrote. I had to go to the doctor because I rolled my eyes out of my head. The character motivations also kind of fell flat most of the time? Like they were mostly there to further the plot. Queer character are always welcome, but goddamn is their story arc as rote as possible. Oh really? Is there a choice between getting revenge and living a nice life with a person who cares about you? Do they go over the same conflict 10-15 times? Bad.
