Undead and Unpopular by MaryJanice Davidson

3.0

Really 3.5

The beginning of the books is a tad confusing due the fact that things happened between this book and the one before that are never really explained or even mentioned. The reader is just supposed to accept the changes in people and situations and go with it.
Despite that, I managed to enjoy some parts of Unpopular. Yes, there are moments when Betsy is annoying in her self-centeredness, but the situations she gets herself in during the course of this book kind of make up for it. It’s the first book in ages where you can actually see other aspects of her personality, beyond the selfishness, to the girl that has so many great friends.
The minor characters save the day/book in this volume, even the totally randomly inserted zombie is there to help the reader see Betsy in a new light. The laughs and intrigue that they brought into the book save the read for me.
A skip if you’re new to the series, but not a waste of time if you want to follow it thru to the end.
