Easily my favourite book I've read so far this year and very likely one of my new all-time faves. Ferocious and beautiful and haunting and endearing and clever and so so so full of heart. The writing constantly made me stop to consider the weight of the words and how true and beautiful they were. The characters are archetypes and yet completely unique and I routed for them so. hard. I loved the premise and the symbolism and the setting. This story had been burned into me and I'm so glad for it.
