I really tried.

This author is going to be at a reader event I’m attending so I wanted to read one of their books, if this hadn’t been the case I think I would have DNF’d earlier but I literally couldn’t read anymore.

Every character in this book is a walking red flag and quite frankly the MMC is just awful. 

- He has been obsessed with her for years, he is in his forties and wanted to wait until she could legally drink (21) before going after her 🚩 

- She flirts with another man and decides she is his and even though she says no she gets no say in it at all 🚩 (this other man also doesn’t take no for an answer when she turns him down multiple times)

- He knows her first time will hurt and tells her he doesn’t care as she is his property now and he can’t wait 🚩 

- She is a barista and is talking to a male customer and he wants to punch the guy in the face, gets angry at her and forces her into a closet AT WORK to kiss her so she remembers who she belongs to 🚩 

- She says she would like to go on a date as she doesn’t know him so he barges into her house and kidnaps her and takes her to his house whilst she screams for him to stop 🚩 also her dad just watches this happen and encourages it.

- He doesn’t want her to pee with the door closed as she belongs to him and she can’t hide anything from him 🚩 

- He continuously refers to her as his property saying he owns her and wants to punish her for saying anything against it when it has literally been 2 days and they haven’t even had an actual conversation 🚩

I could go on but I was not at all the target audience for this book and I won’t be reading any more.
