Murder in the Snow by Verity Bright
4.0
As usual this series continues to be amazing. Lady Swift is hosting Christmas at the manor for the local village and all the staff have been preparing for days. During the annual race unfortunately a runner collapses and dies. But is it an accident or more than it seems? Also how does it relate to her beloved Uncle’s death?
I love this series as it just epitomes the interwar period for me and especially this genre. I love a good house mystery and Lady Swift is a great character, fun and feisty, very independent and feminist! Plus all the supporting characters are great - who doesn’t love slobbering bulldog. Bless Gladstone.
The narrative of this book is a great read especially at this time of year. I love a good festive read and ‘Murder In The Snow’ has all the good hallmarks - snow, stuck in the weather, Christmas time and a good murder. I really enjoyed finding out more about Eleanor’s Uncle and the role he played in his community. Still wanting to find out more about her parents though!
A great addition to series and I can’t wait for the next one!
