Ravensong by TJ Klune

I think it can be a risky move to change the POV in the next book in a series, especially when there was a lot of love for the MC in the first book, but following Gordo turned out to be a great move. His story has similar feels to Ox's keeping the setting and mood of the series but it's different enough preventing it from feeling too samey

Ravensong manages to hold on to all the happy sad feelings from the first book all whilst developing the lore of the wolf packs further. There's more of a focus on the magic and what it entails to be the Witch of the pack and the affects it can have. There's also more action scenes with encounters with their rivals which are surprisingly gruesome, tense and gripping. This takes some of the spotlight away from the romance but personally, this was a benefit to the story.

The dynamics between all these characters are just executed so well, you really feel all the feels whilst following them. There's humour amongst them, heartbreak, betrayals, family issues and the trauma which they have been through and are going through that make you feel like you are navigating life in Green Creek with them

These are some really well written books and this, like the first, is a stand out in the werewolf genre and they are a very comforting read
