What an absolutely delightful discovery! Dorian Valentine has captured my heart with this fantastical gothic romance that is both tender and steamy. Célestin and Amias have such chemistry together and their fiery exchanges and sweet moments together just draw you in and snare you into their story. All this is thanks to the incredibly rich and complex world that Dorian Valentine has crafted, with its finely-tuned magical systems and nuanced social and political structures. Every detail is so vividly painted that it feels like the words come alive off the page and dance in front of you. I can't recommend this book enough, and I really hope we see more from Dorian Valentine in the near future. This is a world I want to lose myself in again and again and again.
