Another hit for Pittacus Lore. This book was a whirlwind, full of action and that little hint of romance I always seek out. The Garde we’re doing GREAT. Hanging out in Nine’s penthouse, training together, having a grand ole time. And then they get a hit on the last missing member: Five. Then sh*t hits the fan.

10/10 recommend reading The Legacies: The Lost Files 1-3 short stories after reading the first three books. They give us some great backstory into Six and Nine’s journeys AND importantly for this book, some backstory on a new character we meet. They do give a little bit of background on the situation when the character comes in, but I personally felt way more comfortable with them since I already knew their story.

I was a little suspicious and put off by Five from the beginning. But then I thought, maybe he’s just sort of a dick and didn’t get the proper training, sort of like when we met Seven. But OF COURSE it couldn’t be that simple. And then Nine with his big (beautiful) mouth…gets them into a whole predicament. My heart is absolutely shattered at what happened in the Everglades and I know with a series like this there are bound to be sacrifices but that never makes it easy. Marina (Seven) really showed up in this book. I wasn’t her biggest fan when we first met but I know she’s becoming a force to be reckoned with. Sam and his dad reuniting was everything I needed it to be and I’m so happy for him. Now if only Six would give in and love the poor boy.

This is a series I just want to binge the hell out of, but I’m try to savor it too. There’s nothing like reading an amazing series for the first time through and really letting it seep into my head and heart.
