City of Heavenly Fire by Cassandra Clare

5.0

Man, I'm gonna miss this bunch of reckless teenagers so much, who never failed to amuse me throughout the journey. From "Pandemonium" to "The Beauty of a Thousand Stars" it was so effin beautiful.
Plus Cassie Clare and her epilogues completely will blow you up. Her writing, her humour, her characters are so elegant that will stop you from coming out of her world. The way she concludes the entire saga is so amazing. When I was left with the last few pages of the City of Heavenly Fire, I was recalling the events of the Pandemonium Club, how it all started and now it is about to get over...

SPOILERS:
The prologue of this book is scary enough to shook you completely, with Sebastian attacking all the institutes and converting the Shadowhunters into Endarkened ones. And our start character Emma Carstairs, even though it is just an introduction but this gives an insight into how strong and prominent her character is. It is impossible to even think Shadowhunters even winning the Dark War without the precious information that she conveyed to Clary and Jace, which helped them to hunt Sebastian down. No wonder why she is known as one of the best warriors after Jace Herondale.
There are so many connections made with the infernal devices that leave a deep impact on the readers. For instance, Sebastian's attack got failed on London Institute, because of the source that vowed to protect them. Magnus calls it the spirit of a lady and we all know whose spirit this belongs to. Jessamine Lovelace. Brother Zachariah gets back his mortality as the heavenly fire destroyed the yin fen and the demon poison in his blood. There was a moment when he was talking with Jace and then he notices the half-erased Parabatai rune on Zachariah. It must very hard for him to see the same version of his Parabatai who died years ago in a different era. I thought once you become a silent brother, you lose all your humanity, but it isn't the same with Jem. He still loves both Will and Tessa in the same way that he used to do 130 years ago! Still, it is so hard to imagine a world in which Jem lives and Will is no more...
Angel Ithuriel. Tessa's Clockwork Angel, the angel which was trapped inside the pendant, the angel which saved her life so many time. The same angel's blood runs in both Clary and Jace. Both the times it helped Tessa and Clary to win the war against Mortmain and Sebastian.
Sebastian. When he died, that one moment when he becomes Jonathan. The boy without demon blood. It wasn't his fault. He was made evil. The Heavenly fire burnt the evil in him but cannot save him....
