The Lion Women of Tehran by Marjan Kamali
3.0
I enjoyed this. I think I’m giving it 3.5 stars, siding closer to 3 stars than 4. It was a nice story but some of the dialogue was a bit cringy. But I like this author and I loved how she referenced Mr. Fahkri’s stationary shop.
I really wish we had heard more from Ellie’s mom. I didn’t like that she fell off towards the last 70% of the book. I wish we had heard more about Homa’s point of view as a child; how she viewed Ellie, not just how Ellie saw her.
I wish the book was more detailed overall. But perhaps, this was meant to be a lighter read than I expected.
