Although I’m not born into the circumstances to truly appreciate or fully relate to this (primarily—I’m a white man), it’s still wonderfully written and engaging to read. At times funny, at times sad, it’s a touching and heartfelt look at the relationship between mother and daughter and our relationships with our past.
