the characters and plot of this novel weren't as compelling as the morning star, and with its slow pacing, it definitely felt like a long book. syvert especially was kind of insufferable and boring. nevertheless, i find knausgård's writing enjoyable and i'm curious enough about the story's supernatural elements to continue on with this series.
