I would’ve easily have rated this a four if it had been a little more original.. however I am a simple girl to please and I LOVED the selection! Therefore I enjoy this as well!
I loved Kai let me start there. I thought he was the epitome of what I enjoy reading abt and I love a man who is obsessed. He has definitely been added to the book boyfriend list! He was such a poet, and he rlly did fall first and harder and I love reading abt that (it feels like such a book thing, that I can’t help it)! If I was a highlighter in a book kind of person his lines would’ve been colored! I loved him!
Paedyn is your pretty common capable, witty, sarcastic character in fantasy books and yet I eat it up every single time! I enjoy that she is both witty, sarcastic, and capable and at the same time anxious, softer, and passionate! It’s a fun back and forth that some authors really cannot nail exactly right!
I even enjoyed Kitt which is funny cause there’s always one side of a love triangle that I don’t at all like, but I enjoyed kitt! I enjoyed that a lot of the contestants lived, I was tired of enjoying characters and then they die ! Adena was a heartbreak but I wish she had more screen time! She was so fun and such a good way to see some comfort from Paedyn, that I wish we got to enjoy her more. However I know where the broken sewing fingers quote came from!
I think the end of this book really gave a lot of room for book #2 so I’m excited to read that one too! I’m excited to see if it can hold the same excitement or if it’s a little more original!
