The Fire Sermon by Francesca Haig
4.0
I received this book in the Willoughby Book Box for September 2016.
I really enjoyed this book, as the world in which it is set is familiar yet striking different. I don't usually reach for books like this, but after receiving it in the Willoughby Book Box, I was immediately interested. The best thing about book boxes is that they open your eyes to new books and authors that would wouldn't normally reach for, and this is an excellent example.
On a whole, this book was very enjoyable. The end goal was clear, the relationships were complicated and didn't feel rushed, the set up was well explored. There were some moments when the twists were slightly predictable, or when things were not explained as fully as I would have liked, but over all I did like the book.
