I WISH I read this novella right after finishing The Folk of The Air trilogy because I was craving more time with Cardan. If you NEED more time with Cardan (like me), please read this novella.

Overall, this was a fantastic story. I love that it gave background on Cardan and it allows you to experience him throughout the ages (from childhood to present-day). It helps you ultimately understand why the way he is.

I own the physical copy of this book, and I ADORE that it looks like a children's fairy tale book (the artwork/illustrations are beautiful and worth having on your shelf).
