Zom-B by Darren Shan

Living in a multiracial country,I've never been the type to define people by colour rather than religion, gender etc so it was fascinating to see the world through this type of lens:

'They infest good schools and ruin them. They buy houses and destroy neighbourhood......every last terrorist and job stealing scab was like that boy.' (Note:he was black.)

Whew. We have a lot of that at first then, what started out as an ordinary day would end w blood and screams and pain and terror.
Woot woot!

Not to mention that tiny plot twist. I'm not sure how it serves the story. Anyone willing to explain?
boobs. I'm kidding. I don't want to spoil it if you haven't read the book......if you have,however. . .
GOTCHA!!!! KNEW YOU'D TRY TO READ THE SPOILER. STOP READING IT IF YOU HAVEN'T READ THE BOOK.
Okay,for reals now.
why did mr shan made us believe B was a boy?/confuse us about B's gender?

All in all,I give mr shan 5 happy faces. Happy bloody faces. How have I never read any of his work before
