This is in effect a quirky small town paranormal romance where the dying MC is changed into a vampire after being accidentally shot by a drunk hunter. Overall I liked Jane and in particular her obsession with books - but the story tried to be so funny and snarky at all times to the point I didn’t find it funny and instead became annoyed. I think I’m just not the target audience for these light “humorous” paranormal books and should probably stop trying.
