This book is really cute and i really loved the characters but if you’re gonna through the trouble of mentioning that the reason one of your main characters didn’t get the job of their dreams because of racism I kinda expect you to flesh out that character in terms of their race and culture! Doesn’t have to be overbearing but even some basic things like food or mentioning difference in childhood or even clothing style inspired by that culture could have gone a really long way! It just felt like going for diversity points while not putting in any effort.
