Ok, I give up. I just can’t make it through. The writing is absolutely amazing, but it’s far too bloated a book. I’ll probably read another Fowles book because of his writing, but it’ll have to be shorter. Had this one been shorter, I think I would have loved it. I did skim to the end to get to the gist: misogynist learns his lesson (in the most roundabout way possible!)
