Trick Mirror by Jia Tolentino
3.0
A recounting of modern horrors with a touch of conformity.
I appreciate the way the author is able to reiterate and explain information in a digestible manner, however; I do wish they would have contributed a few of their own personal opinions into some of these pieces; a new way of understanding something. I ultimately felt hooked, strung along, and then left with something to desire from most of the stories/essays.
The I in Internet 3/5
Reality TV Me 3/5
Always Be Optimizing 4/5
Pure Heroines 1/5
Ecstasy 4/5
The Story of a Generation in Seven Scams 1/5
We Come From Old Virginia 3/5
The Cult of the Difficult Woman 3/5
I Thee Dread 5/5
