DNF @ 20%

I am so angry that this book is as boring as it is, honestly. I am obsessed with phoenixes (my pen name is literally S.M. Phoenix and I have a phoenix tattoo) so naturally, I couldn't wait to get my grubby little paws on this one. In fact, the scream I scrumpt when I got this ARC was unnatural and definitely not human.

Cozy fantasy is clearly not for me because like... nothing happened in the book in 20%, really. Okay, one thing happened but it was kinda meh, compared to the books I normally read. I really wanted to love this and one day I may try to finish it. I am so sad because the premise is super cool and I do still love the idea of the book -- but it wasn't execute very well in my opinion.

The FMC is very childish (I actually think she might be autistic, but I don't remember reading anything about rep for that, so unsure) and it's hard reading her thoughts.

I'm really sorry that I didn't love this, because again, I REALLY wanted to. The cover is beautiful though!
