THE ENDING. WHY. Why would you set your character up for this great shift, a change for the better, AND THEN WRITE A COP OUT SO SHE DIDN'T HAVE TO DEAL WITH ANY OF THE CONSEQUENCES OF HER ACTIONS? I was so disappointed. The film is far superior in seeing Rebecca's character development through--plus, you get the added bonus of Hugh Dancy. Watch the movie, skip the book.
