Beyond Belief: My Secret Life Inside Scientology and My Harrowing Escape by Jenna Miscavige Hill

3.0

This book describes a life of pure drudgery growing up as a scientologist. I felt Jenna was constantly being punished for someting or other. Not being able to watch tv or interact with people on the outside, it took a long time for Jenna to realize that things could be different. I didn't exactly have a positive attitude toward scientology from the start and I consider it even more of a sect now than before, considering the systematic brainwashing its members are exposed to. It's long-winded read, but I'm glad I made the effort nonetheless.
