Overdue: Reckoning with the Public Library by Amanda Oliver

fast-paced

2.75

I really wanted to like this book, but ultimately I felt that it wasn’t particularly well-written and lacked effective organization. It felt like she started out trying to write research-based non-fiction but ultimately just wanted to write a memoir. And if I’m going to read a memoir by someone about being a public librarian, I want to be someone who held the job for longer than 9 months. I wanted more research, more solutions, and more depth than this book has to offer.
