The Close-Up by Pip Drysdale
4.0
This was a fun, wild of a ride thriller. It was twisty, all the way up until the last pages. I loved the reveal at the end, it perfectly fit the story so much, and I ate it up. There were some smaller twists along the way that I really enjoyed as well. The main character in this book was a trip. She was interesting, that’s for sure. She frustrated me to know end at times, and then I would switch and be on her side completely. The writing was very well done. I felt like I was on the journey with the characters the whole time. It was a really unhinged read in the best possible way, but it wasn’t really dark. The pacing was fast which really propelled me through the pages. I finished this one in a couple hours over the course of an afternoon.
If you’re looking for a thriller that you won’t want to put down, then you need to check this one out.
Thank you to @gallerybooks & @pipdrysdale & @mbc_books for my advance copy. All thoughts are my own.
