The writing style really suits the magical, fantastical setting and characters of this story... it's really pretty and evocative. The plot points are really interesting too! I must say that the main romance between Karou and Akiva initially seems to happen very quickly but this actually makes sense later on after the reveal of a certain thing that I will not spoil for ya!!!
The ending is very strong and leaves me absolutely intrigued and excited to start the next book! Laini Taylor does an awesome job at writing characters and their conflicts (emotional and story-related) with one another.
I'm chopping off .25 stars because of one particular thing that Zuzanna says at one particular time. It's not problematic, just.... embarassing. You'll know what it is when you read it.
