Just wasn't for me. Ben is a sympathetic, likeable, relatable protagonist - he's funny too, but it takes some time to see it, as in the beginning he reads kind of clinical. I'm sure that's part of the point but it was a little hard to get into at first because of it. The pacing was just a little odd. I wasn't a fan of the zombies either; I appreciate a unique take on them but they felt more like comedy relief and less like a serious threat. The leg scene was a little much and even though you kinda knew it was coming it didn't prepare you for how graphic that one specific bit was. There's a specific plot point revealed near the end that kind of blindsided me and it felt pointless in a way? I guess again it was a pacing issue, but overall not a bad read. Very pleased that the dog doesn't die !!
