Practice Makes Perfect by Julie James
5.0
I read this book within 13 hours. It was THAT GOOD!
The story was about two lawyers who were up for partnership in a prestigious law firm. J.D. and Payton were adversaries who are two of the brightest minds in the law world. They both specialized in two different types so never worked together until a twenty-million dollar case opened up where the client wanted two younger people working on it.
Further into the story, both lawyers find out only one person will get the partnership so it's a race to the finish. They both have two cases they have to win, they both have to schmooze their boss and potential new case, and they both realize they have serious feelings for each other.
It's your typical romance novel, but it has an intelligent feel to it, with more meat & heart than most romance novels. The characters are real, with real issues, and their chemistry is sizzling.
This book has been one of the best I've read this year and I can't wait to read more of her books!
