Writers & Lovers by Lily King
4.0
I didn't think I would enjoy this book as much as I did. It's... sad, yet also delightful and whimsical in places. It's uncomfortable, but so authentic. You get a sense that the author is intimately acquainted with good food, good (and bad) lovers, anxiety, grief, the relentless drive to create, and a yearning for something intangible and "normal." I laughed several times, teared up in sections, and had to set it down and come back.
It's definitely a book for writers, aspiring writers, book lovers, and anyone who enjoys good writing and fully-formed characters.
