Continued from book's 3 subplot: Amy seeks her rescuer's help to end things once and for all. Amy is the tough survivor; Dallas is the tortured protector, and they're both very strong MCs. Amy was written as half-way healed with the time skip, but her struggle is still present and that was written well. They have great chemistry and their bond remains strong even after the separation.
Dallas is sweet and protective toward Amy, respectful of her boundaries and mindful of her needs, though his push pull tendencies can be frustrating. He's struggling with PTSD, and she helps to ground him. They're each other's anchor, and the trust between them is great. Loved the emotion and passion in their romance, but the90% separation thing annoyed me. Action wise, it's fast paced but kinda dark, and the HEA is satisfying.
