This was very cute but I was expecting more. Poly relationship with age gap, pining, and tentacles should have been brilliant. Everything is nice but there's so much unfulfilled potential here. The humans have pined for each other for years and never managed to do anything about it because it seemed too forbidden, yet they immediately accept the idea of a poly relationship with a non-human. I wanted more length for UST and resolving the obstacles of the relationship.
And the sexual encounters were a bit lacking too, for two reasons: there was way too few tentacly threesomes, and the ones that were there happened after some time skips, and I had a hard time believing these guys really hadn't already tried out all of those things during the skips.
So much good here but I had hard time suspending my disbelief with these weirdest things, while I was completely embracing the lore from the first book.
