No Two Persons by Erica Bauermeister

A deeply introspective and character-driven story about a story and the multitudes of lives it touches throughout its life cycle.

"We're all caretakers of the stories. Writers are just the lucky ones who get to know them first."

It starts with an author, a girl who has an experience and writes a book. Then there's the reader for the literary agent that picks it out of her stack of manuscripts. And the audiobook narrator who used to be a famous actor. And of course the reader. So many readers of which everyone ultimately is--a consumer of the story. But more than that a purveyor. A contributor to its permanence. An inextricable component of its impact.

Sometimes the characters intersect and sometimes they do not. The power in this book doesn't reside in clever coincidences or ah-ha twists. It's about feelings. A strong thematic undertow of guilt and survival ultimately ties these characters together.

Read this book when you need to put your heart back together or with a good friend for some scintillating conversation. I'm sure glad I did.
