The Stranger Times: by C.K. McDonnell, C.K. McDonnell

5.0

For some reason, I thought this book was going to be an anthology of sorts of weird newspaper-style articles, so I was very pleasantly surprised that it was an actual full-length novel. Mind you, I would have still read and thoroughly enjoyed those said articles - McDonnell's writing is fantastic.

He also has a knack of writing endearingly flawed characters and has a great sense of pacing. As well as weaving a wonderful, if always teetering on the edge of the absurd, story. I just can't get enough of his books!

I'm already excited for the second instalment of The Stranger Times, but alas, like for all good things, I must wait.
