Beyond Mindfulness in Plain English: An Introductory Guide to Deeper States of Meditation by Bhante Henepola Gunarantana

5.0

I really liked this book. This is a great intermediate level book about mindfulness meditation. It gave me a good idea of where I should be going next with my meditation. Every other book I have read about mindfulness really just rehashes what I had already learned, but [b:Beyond Mindfulness in Plain English: An Introductory Guide to the Jhanas|6309471|Beyond Mindfulness in Plain English An Introductory Guide to the Jhanas|Bhante Henepola Gunaratana|http://photo.goodreads.com/books/1255891754s/6309471.jpg|14522586] assumes that you know what mindfulness is and are familiar with the basic techniques. The only downside to this book was that I got it from the library and 3 weeks really isn't enough time to put everything into practice. It'll definitely be worth checking out again in a few months to see how I am doing with the process of jhanic meditation.
