Beachy Keen by Kasey Stockton is such a fun read. I genuinely loved every minute of this super sweet and endearing story. This story follows Cat Keene and Noah Belacourt as they tumble through friendship and into love. It’s a journey that’s inspired by a touch of Pride and Prejudice, a smidge of You’ve Got Mail, and a bit of Jane Eyre, and I was there for it all! Cat is a fantastic heroine. She’s strong, independent, and determined. She is also a genuinely selfless caretaker. But she has some serious prejudice towards wealth, the elite class, and Noah Belacourt…well, all Belacourts, to be honest. The prejudice stems from awful bullying Cat endured in Jr. High by a Belacourt, so it makes sense she has these sorts of feelings against this family, but it’s a tad much that she broad-brushes all wealthy people. Does Cat have a change of heart? Well, you’ll have to read the story to find out, but I will say that Noah Belacourt is a true dreamboat who successfully worked his sweet, endearing, nerdy magic on this reader! I adore his character. I love how un-billionaire a billionaire he is. Yes, he is hot. Yes, he has three houses and gobs of money and the in at all the hottest clubs and such, but he does not care about any of this. He is a sweet-hearted nerd who suffers from debilitating anxiety. Noah’s struggles throughout this story are uber relatable. That is what I loved about him the most. I’ve been in his shoes with anxiety. It’s awful. It’s draining and exhausting. But I love how Cat sees his true heart and is there for him through the think and thin of anxiety. I absolutely cheered for this couple the whole story. I’m so sad my time with this couple is over, but SO glad I read this book. It’s just so GOOD!
