I loved the first 1/3 of this book; I felt it had a unique an interesting plot, and I was wondering where it was going to take the reader.
After that, it turned into a somewhat violent blend of James Dashner's Maze Runner and (very heavily) Michael Grant's Gone series. I was a little disappointed and found myself thinking "been there, done that". Right down to the details such as the secret government base, the camp on the lake, and the main character personalities...
I'll be interested to give the next book a try and see if it can offer anything unique and interesting, but if it can't offer me anything new in the first few chapters, I won't be continuing on. Sorry.
