Loved the vibe of this book! The podcast element tension of the mystery portion reminded me of "A Good Girls Guide to Murder.” The book was overall lighter than that though, the romance was good and a decent portion of the book without overwhelming the tension as mystery built. The blend was really nice and made the book such an enjoyable piece of media to devour! I am a sucker for a book about podcasters this year and this wasn’t an exception! Sounds Like Serial sounds like a podcast I would consider listening to and I wish it was real. I really, REALLY loved the levity and respect Ridley gave her stories. I do like how she was able to tie so many crimes together and able to solve the kidnapping/murders while law enforcement didn’t pick up the pattern. Colt was a perfect broody MMC, loved a literal touch her and die moment. Also their nicknames for each other, Chaos and Lawman, are just perfect little smart-alek teasing that makes you want to root for them. I love how he did follow up his apologies with action and I love how he had a good balance of when to let Ridley be solo vs stepping in and taking up for her by the end. As corny as it is, they did throw the title in at the end in dialogue and it was cute. Spice was okay for me, not bad but also not my favorite. My biggest flaws were how Colt didn’t let Emerson have the freedom she needed to heal because he was so protective but it gave Trey an amazing chance to step in and sweep Emerson off of her feet. I am a Trey girl and if he didn’t wind up with Ridley, I’m glad it was Emerson!
