I had high expectations for this book - the modern day setting, the retelling of Hades and Persephone, and a seemingly dark twist, but it didn’t live up to my expectations. While Hades and Persephone had decent character development, the rest of the characters fell a little flat to me, and the world felt superficial rather than fully developed. It read more like a fanfiction and I wish it would have delved a bit deeper. Quick read, but not my favorite.
