I could not stand the writing style of this or the characters. I'd only read one Dean Atta book before, and that was The Black Flamingo, so I assumed everything else he wrote would be in a similar style but I was deeply mistaken. I'm really picky when it comes to the Young Adult I read, and the writing style and immaturity of the characters is a big reason why. I might give his other books a try, but this one just wasn't for me.
