Long Way Down by Jason Reynolds

5.0

Long Way Down is an incredibly powerful novel that poetically reveals the tragic and irreversible impact of gun violence. This was my first experience with a book written in verse, and it has convinced me to read more of this style. Each line was stunning and potent. Each character was layered and significant, all of them representing different ways in which people are made victims of gun violence. It is perfect in every way, a harrowing journey from start to finish.

Haunting.

Astonishing.

Earth-shattering.

I could not have asked for anything more.
