I liked this book, even though some things were a bit far-fetched, in my opinion. I also thought Lutie's character was not very well-developed. It was a fast read and fun to find out what ended up happening to the kids.
My favorite part of the book was the description of the circus coming into town for the seasonal break. It reminded me of Water for Elephants.
