Unpredictable in the best way. Just when I thought I knew where it was going, it changed. I almost DNF’d this book because I thought it was going a certain direction, but it completely surprised me. Gory, grime, intriguing, mysterious, haunting, yearning, romantic, and downright hot. The duet audio performers Lucy Rivers and Joe Arden made this book immersive and addicting. 100% recommend the audiobook as I would not have found it anywhere as enjoyable on any other format. Medium pacing with a slight lag around 70%, but otherwise is a shining introduction to dark romance.
