I like the build up and payoff of the "secret knock" in this book. The adventure the kids go on is fun and a bit silly, but it has some good heartfelt moments.

Another thing I really appreciate about this series is the amount of references to different artists and minds of science throughout history (both recent and old). It was a great jumping off point for a conversation with the 9-year-old I was tutoring.
