The Innocent Wife by Lisa Regan

5.0

This review was originally posted on Star Crossed Reviews I received this book for free from Netgalley in exchange for an honest review. This does not affect my opinion of the book or the content of my review. Thank you to Bookouture for letting me take part in this tour and for my copy of this book via NetGalley. This is the 16th book in the series. My oh my. I have been reading this series since the beginning but you could read any of the books on their own.

Everyone knows that what you see on TV or on socials is probably fake or exaggerated but we want to believe in the fairytale. We want to believe that the perfect marriage or family exists and therefore we can have it too. It's a very successful business model. The Collins were doing that for a lot of people in Denton but what happens when your perfect marriage starts to fall apart? Lisa did an excellent job of drawing us into this 'perfect' marriage and exposing all its flaws with mystery and intrigue from the off.

I was gripped from the prologue to the very last page. Lisa writes such enthralling books that you just cannot put them down. This one is no exception. With every twist and turn I was more and more absorbed.

Detective Josie Quinn is one of my favourites. She's independent, strong and not afraid to kick some butt if needed. Josie has been through hell and back but her personal life is now in a really good place. I am so glad to see her settled and happy now.

Another fantastic addition to this series. Bring on the next one!
