The Bordeaux Book Club by Gillian Harvey

5.0

Grace a divorced woman is a very active person. She, one day starts an English book club in Bordeaux, France to connect people who read English books. Leah, Grace's friend struggles to manage her new life in Bordeaux with her often disappearing husband (suspiciously) and a teenage daughter. George who is a carpenter who is also new to the place comes across this book club post, and thinks why not?! Monica - a new mom who was an avid reader but struggles now to manage everything with her baby alone with 0 support. Alfie, a 19 year old guy, joins this book club for his mom.
They are a very small group. Everyone except Grace is new to the place. They first hesitate to open up. But after their regular meet ups, they all find something amazing. As the book says "Friendship is just the start of their story"

Oh I never knew, just a random book which I downloaded in my KU will affect me this much. I loved this book ❤️ So relatable. I was so thankful that Grace started a book club and these people got their own tribe. So heartwarming. When I came to my new home, I was lost and alone. Birthday parties, poojas but nothing was connecting. I am forever grateful to Minati, who started a book club in our community. When she texted in the group, asking can we form a group for readers? I was so happy and excited. I just said 'yes' for everything. Now it's almost 5 months with this lovely bunch of people with whom I can be real with zero judgement. Every week, I just look forward to this Friday meetings and it just healed me. So this book will be very close to me. It just touched all the nooks and corners of my heart. And the characters were so relatable.
