It took me a month to get through this, and I find myself struggling to continue reading her books, but also I can't let go because of Lestat and Lestat x Louis. I'm glad that Louis has stopped holding so many grudges against Lestat (while understandable, but also, good god, stop whining.) Which leads me to why I gave this 3 stars: Lestat x Louis.

I definitely prefer Prince Lestat over this one.

I'm still processing how she has COMPLETELY upended her entire mythology by creating a new part of the mythology which is, and I can't believe I'm saying this: ALIENS. It isn't as insufferable as ~*~sparkling~*~ vampires, but I digress. I'm intrigued how this is going to continue to play out.

I'm still not sure how I feel about Amel yet, because I feel like it's just an excuse to have Lestat be at odds over who he loves more: Amel or Louis. I mean he very clearly loves Louis more but on the flip side: come ON.

After I finished I was basically left saying, "Well that happened."
